As of 2022, the Cleveland Indians will be using a new name: the Cleveland Guardians. The change, which we’re sure to see implemented in games like MLB The Show 22, has been in the works for over a year, with the team already saying it was planning to have a new name after the 2021 season.

It’s unclear exactly when this change is going to take place in MLB The Show, but since it’s effective at the end of the 2021 season, it’s possible the game could be updated before next year’s version. We’ve reached out to Sony for comment.
